Youthful, fruity nose, dark pomegranate colour. Dark plum, ripe cherry, coffee. Elegant, savory/slightly earthy red with soft tannins and good length.
Crafted in the old Georgian way in Qvevri (clay amphora) from the Saperavi* grape variety.
Made by Dakishvili family from own old vineyard of Zhaluri village in Akhmeta region, Kacheti, Eastern Georgia.
*Saperavi means “dye” in Georgian, it refers to a very dark color of the wines that are made from it. This deep almost black color is due to the fact that Saperavi belongs to a small group of teinturier grapes (teinturier is a French term for dye or stain) that, in addition to having red/black skins, also have red flesh.
