Rich aromatics of dried pears, herbs, ginger, pepper, almonds. Rich flavors of sun-dried apricot, dried apple. Dry white wine with pronounced minerality/saltiness. Delicious, different.

Grape: Olaszrizling (also known as Riesling Italico, Welshriesling, Graševina).

Terroir. Lava-based volcanic soil (basalt) on the southeastern slopes of Somló Mountain, Western Hungary. Moderate climate (humid continental). Harvested by hand mid October 2015 with low yield of 1.2 kg/vine.

Alc.: 12%, sugar free extract: 25.6 g/l, total acid: 6.0 g/l, residual sugar: 1.1 g/l, pH 3.34

Bottles made: 1293

Winemaking. Careful hand harvesting and sorting, skin contact of two hours. Spontaneous fermentation in 1000l Hungarian oak barrel. Maturation for 12 month in a used 1000l Hungarian oak barrel with further 30 months reductive maturing (protected from oxygen) in stainless steel tank before bottling.

Crafted by Fekete winery with 4,3ha vineyard on the southern slopes of Somló Hill, Somló, Western Hungary.
