Dunaj is a dark indigenous Slovak grape variety that was officially registered in 1997. Its name refers to Danube (Dunaj is the Slovak name for the Danube river). It is a crossing of Sankt Laurent, Portugieser and Muscat Bouschet grapes.
The wine is made without the use of yeast, enzymes or other additives. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation in small oak barrels for one and a half year.
Crafted by Mátyás Family Winery using organic and biodynamic farming methods and traditional winemaking techniques with minimal intervention.
