Native Armenian Haghtanak grape, organic practices, native yeasts, 7 months ageing in Caucasian oak (quercus macranthera). Ararat region, on the eastern slopes of the biblical mount Ararat, westcentral Armenia. 

Haghtanak (victory in Armenian) is an Armenian grape crossed in 1977. It's a crossing of 40 years October Revolution (a crossing of Moldovian Kopchak and French Alicante Buche) with Saperavi native to Eastern Georgia. Haghtanak has red pulp (teinturier grape) and produces dark, tannic and powerfull reds.
