Light, juicy with plenty of flavour. Spicy red fruits, pepper, plums, cassis.
A wild red blend of Pinot Noir, Blaufrankisch, Zweigelt, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay (white), Wurzer (white), Syrah, Yellow Muscat (white). Zweigelt and Yellow Muscat are co-fermented, with all other varieties made separately. Wurzer fermented on skins. Wines are aged 12 months in older French oak and then in concrete. Many vintages blended together.
Flavour-wise – wow. Light on its feet but with plenty of flavour richness. Ruby in colour, spicy red fruits, white pepper, a touch of oak, plums and cassis. Velvety tannins and a tart finish (perhaps the white grapes coming through). Tasty and a heck of a lot going on here.
