Powerful, intense dry red wine with oaky and  spicy notes and a persistent flavor that continues to evolve.

To pair with roasted meats, grilled vegetables, mushrooms and old hard cheeses.

Spontaneously fermented and aged 14 months in Caucasian oak (quercus macranthera) barrels.

Ararat Valley native Haghtanak (victory in Armenian) is an Armenian grape crossed in 1977. It's a crossing of 40 years October Revolution (a crossing of Moldovian Kopchak and French Alicante Buche) with Saperavi native to Eastern Georgia. Haghtanak has red pulp (teinturier grape) and produces dark, tannic and powerfull reds.

Tushpa Winery lies beneath the biblical mountain Ararat, in the village of Taperakan. The unique combination of clay and volcanic soils, sunshine, and refreshing mountain winds provides the perfect conditions for cultivating grapes with exceptional character. With six hectares of vineyards, this winery specializes in growing indigenous grape varieties, including Haghtanak which perfectly embodies the distinct terroir of the Ararat Valley.
